About Our Church
We're blessed to serve God and our community together
Pastor David grew up in Shannon, Illinois, with a heart for serving the Lord. After high school, he earned an Associate's Degree in Business Administration and later graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Business Education. In 1982, God blessed him with his wife Kathy, and together they raised two wonderful daughters.
Following God's calling, David completed a Master's Degree in ministry at Maranatha Baptist Bible College in 1986. He and his family faithfully served in campus ministry for 12 years at universities including Illinois State, West Virginia University, and the University of Illinois. Since 1999, Pastor David has been shepherding our congregation at Grape Creek Baptist Church with dedication, biblical wisdom, and a genuine love for our church family.
What We Believe
Grounded in Scripture, united in faith, growing in Christ
The Scriptures
We believe the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God, inerrant in its original form, and the supreme standard for all Christian faith and conduct.
The True God
We believe in one living and true God, an infinite and perfect Spirit, existing eternally as three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, equal in divine perfection.
Salvation by Grace
We believe salvation is wholly of grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. His perfect sacrifice provides full atonement for our sins and the promise of eternal life.
The Church
We believe the local church is a congregation of baptized believers, united in faith and fellowship, observing Christ's ordinances and governed by His Word.
Baptism & Communion
We practice believer's baptism by immersion and observe the Lord's Supper as memorials of Christ's death, burial, and resurrection until He comes again.
Christ's Return
We believe in the personal, bodily return of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will gather His people to Himself and establish His eternal kingdom in glory.

Our field hosts church leagues, family game days, and community events throughout the warmer months.
Basketball Court
A half-court gym for youth activities, pickup games, and fellowship events.
Game Room
Pool table, air hockey, and more - a fun space where youth can hang out and build friendships.
Playground & Picnic Area
A safe playground alongside a covered picnic pavilion with fireplace and parking - perfect for family gatherings and cookouts.
Missionary Apartment
A fully-furnished home where visiting missionaries can rest and reconnect during their time stateside. One of many ways we support our 18 missionary families.

What to Expect
From the moment you arrive at Grape Creek Baptist Church, you'll be welcomed by warm, friendly people. Our services are designed to honor God and help you grow in both biblical knowledge and daily faith.
How Should I Dress?
Don't spend too much time thinking about what you should wear. We are grateful to have you with us as we learn more about God through the Bible, so wear whatever you would feel comfortable in to do that with us.
